Lost students sought

CRANBOURNE Secondary College class of 1994 is being sought by its peers for a reunion.
A group of past students have been trying in vain to get in touch with other past students and teachers, who attended the school from 1989 and 1994, for a school reunion.
With social media forums taking over as the main method of communication these days, organisers thought it would be easy as hitting the send button on their Facebook sites. But they have learnt that it hasn’t been that simple.
Jennine Dodd has been trying in vain to get in touch with past students and teachers to notify them of a planned reunion at Sandhurst Golf Club on Saturday July 21 this year.
“I have been surprised at how modern communication mediums seem to have failed me this time,” she said.
“I have a Facebook account like most people, but I think we need to get back to basics to spread the word. And I think the local paper is probably going to be our ace-in-the-hole this time.”
She said so far they had about 40 students who have accepted the invitation to attend, and about 30 listed at ‘maybes’.
“But we haven’t heard from anyone else who either completed Year 12 in 1994 or would have if they were still attending Cranbourne High at the time,” she said.
“Considering there were more than 140 students enrolled in our graduating class, that’s a lot of people unaccounted for.”
Ms Dodd along with co-organisers, Kim Keher and Adele Daly are continuing to try and get in touch with past students and teachers.
“You don’t have to have been a student there over consecutive years, but if you would have started Year 7 in 1989 and finished Year 12 in 1994, we want to hear from you,” Ms Dodd said.
