CASEY’S flood relief concert has been hailed a huge success after it raised almost $8000.
A sell-out crowd attended the concert featuring a selection of Casey’s best musical talent to raise money for Victorian and Queensland flood victims.
Ironically, the original venue, the River Gum Performing Arts Centre at Hampton Park, was damaged by the deluge, and the event was relocated to the Cranbourne Community Theatre.
Casey councillor Wayne Smith organised the 12 February event along with many others, and said it was a huge undertaking that was put together in a matter of weeks.
“To raise about $8000 was just an outstanding achievement,” Cr Smith said.
