CASEY council has announced the Catherine Freeman Foundation will be the exclusive charity for this year’s MRA Cranbourne GP Run.
The Olympic champion will wave the flag on High Street on 16 October to send thousands of motorcyclists on their way to Phillip Island for the Moto GP.
Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford said she was pleased the fundraising efforts from the event would benefit such a worthy cause.
“The Catherine Freeman Foundation is doing fantastic work with the children of Palm Island in Far North Queensland. Its support of educational programs, such as the scholarships and incentive programs it provides for indigenous children, is making a big difference,” Cr Wreford said.
People will be able to contribute a gold coin donation for the foundation at the free rides and activities on the day.
The MRA Cranbourne GP Run will be held from 8am to 11am on High Street and adjoining streets.
