Ziggy’s the cat’s Whiskas

By Kim Brooks
SEVEN-year-old Ziggy is in the running to have his face featured on a pack of Whiskas or win his owner $10,000.
Catherine Norris from Cranbourne North entered her cat in a Whiskas competition on the weekend because he has a “huge character” and she thought he would look great on the cat food packaging.
Ziggy was born in February 2003 and Ms Norris rescued him from the Keysborough pet shelter two months later.
She is a big David Bowie fan and named him Ziggy because he has one blue eye and one green eye, like the singer.
“He doesn’t act like a regular cat,” says Ms Norris. He learned how to open the pantry door when he was a year old and has been helping himself to Whiskas ever since.
Ms Norris thought it would be a bit of fun to enter Ziggy in the competition.
“He already pretty much thinks he’s royalty,” she said.
“I wouldn’t mind walking into Coles and seeing his face.”
But having just bought a new home, she likes the idea of winning $10,000 more. You can vote for Ziggy at the Whiskas website, www.whiskas.com.au. Ziggy is pledge number 72809.
