NEIL Bainbridge has taken on the role as acting president of the Cranbourne Chamber of Commerce (CCC) after the resignation of Judy Davis.
Mr Bainbridge, the chief executive of the Cranbourne Turf Club, will be acting president until the next annual general meeting in September.
Judy Davis announced her resignation as president of the CCC in March due to ill-health. Ms Davis said she was unable to perform her duties and did not want to continue as a “ghost” president.
Chris Russell, director of the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, will fill the role as acting vice-president in the period leading up to the AGM.
Mr Bainbridge said the chamber would continue to advocate and lobby for Cranbourne traders.
“We want to assure our members and local traders that, although Judy will be sorely missed, the chamber will continue to grow and to serve the needs of the local business community,” Mr Bainbridge said.
The CCC have thanked Mr Davis for her work and wished her well in her fight to regain good health.
