THE Derinya Art and Craft Exhibition celebrates its 35th year on the weekend beginning Friday 23 July.
Hosted by Derinya Primary School on Overport Road in Frankston South, the exhibition showcases the talents of emerging and established artists from Victoria.
A range of craft will be displayed including sculpture, glassware, photography, ceramics, furniture, jewellery and textiles. Over 400 pieces will be on display and all works are for sale.
Guest artist Gerry Knight features her figurative paintings and unique linocuts. Her subjects vary from expressive landscapes to full-bodied seascapes and appeal to a broad audience.
Craft artist Andrew Casper is also featured.
His sculptures are influenced by the natural environment at Wilsons Promontory and appear to have an innate life force.
The opening night is a gala evening starting at 7.30pm; tickets are available on the night for $25.
Tickets can also be purchased prior to the event. Cost includes wine, beer and gourmet finger food.
The exhibition is open 10am to 5pm on Saturday 24 July and 10am to 4pm on Sunday 25 July. Entry fee is $5 and children enter for free.
Hot and cold beverages, soup, sandwiches and cakes will be available at the café.
