Church dinner for expanision

THE APPEAL to revamp Cranbourne’s St Johns Anglican Church has picked up a notch with the church hosting a business dinner to raise money for the works.
The church will host a three-course business dinner at Ranfurlie Golf Course on Thusday 17 June.
Cranbourne Turf Club CEO Neil Bainbridge will be the guest speaker on the night, his topic Cranbourne – First Past the Post, plans for the Cranbourne Racing and Training Precinct.
St John’s is planning a major extension to its facilities to accommodate the growth of the local community.
It currently relies on a building dating back to the 1860s.
The new plans include a worship centre for 300 people along with an education centre for church and community use as well as preserving the herit-age church building currently in use.
The plans are expected to be lodged for planning approval soon.
The whole project is expected to cost just below $2 million, with the local appeal hoping to raise $500,000 – the church has already raised $190,000 of that.
Gifts to a portion of the project are tax-decuctible.
For details of the dinner or for information about contributing to the appeal contact Irene Johnson on 9789 9151.
Seating is limited and the RSVP date is June 4.
