FILMS exploring self image, power and relationships were on show at Cranbourne Secondary College’s annual Film Festival.
Now in its 20th year, the film festival, held on the 20 October, gave year 12 media students the opportunity to showcase the films they have made.
As part of the VCE, media students were required to write and produce their own short film on a topic of their choice.
Cranbourne Secondary College media teacher George Massouris said it was a popular project that usually involved many other VCE students in acting roles.
“It is a great way to celebrate life in Cranbourne by presenting stories that are made in the community reflecting the values of the time,” Mr Massouris said.
“Some kids make drama others comedy and a few create experimental music videos.
“I love working with these kids and find their ideas and stories relevant and refreshing.”
The film festival is promoted through the school’s radio station 3CSC 95.9 FM.
It is also run in conjunction with the school’s Arts Festival where the art work created at the senior level is displayed in the foyer.
