A NEW framework as part of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) service is being rolled out across all of Casey’s 27 MCH centres.
The MCH service is implementing a new, state-wide Key Age and Stage (KAS) framework that encourages a greater level of parental involvement and engagement during MCH visits.
Casey’s acting manager of youth and family services Cheryl Casey said the new KAS framework introduced a new approach to the 10 key developmental stage visits provided to parents and children through the MCH program.
‘Our Maternal and Child Health nurses will continue to empower and support Casey’s parents to meet the demands of early parenthood by monitoring the health, development, learning and overall wellbeing of their children.” Ms Casey said. ‘Parents and families visiting their MCH centre may notice some changes to the consultations undertaken by their MCH nurse and how the information is recorded on their Child Health Record book, or the blue book as it is more commonly known.”
