Free treats for seniors

FREE public transport and free entertainment are some of the things senior community members can look forward to during the 2009 Victorian Seniors Festival.
Now in its 27th year, the festival, from 4 to 11 October, includes more than 1000 free and low-cost events across metropolitan Melbourne and regional and rural Victoria.
The State Government will provide Victorian Seniors Card holders with free public transport for the duration of the festival as well as free V/Line services on the 6,7,8,10 and 11 of October.
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera said the event offered seniors in Melbourne the opportunity to get involved more than ever before.
“There is a range of fantastic activities and events being held around the Cranbourne area,” he said.
“I encourage all seniors, their families and friends to participate.”
