On the hunt for grants

LOCAL Community groups could get a financial boost thanks to the 2009 The Hunt Club Community Fund.
More than $90,000 has been donated to local organisations through the annual initiative from The Hunt Club’s project manager, the Dennis Family Corporation.
All Cranbourne community groups are encouraged to apply for the grant said Adele Levinge, executive director Dennis Family Corporation.
“The annual community fund is a wonderful way of giving something back to some of the many worthwhile not-for-profit groups operating in and around Cranbourne and The Hunt Club,” Ms Levinge said.
Projects previously supported through The Hunt Club Community Fund include the purchase of new playground equipment, support for a back to school initiative, upgrading equipment for the CFA, workshops to help children with communication difficulties, maintenance and renovation of a community hall, the purchase of an emergency generator and a rain water tank for a preschool.
Applications are open to all not-for-profit community groups that have been operating for at least 12 months in the 3977 postcode area.
Grants of $500 or $1000 are available with applications closing at 5pm on Friday 14 August.
The successful applicants will be determined by a panel of local community leaders with the recipients to be announced at a function in October.
