Playgroup finds friends

By Lia Bichel
The playgroup, run by Barbara Biggelaar and funded by City of Casey’s Best Start, has moved from Parent Zone centre to St John’s Anglican Church Hall.
“It was a great day, and the new venue is great,” Ms Biggelaar said. “There are two playrooms, a kitchen, an outdoor play area, and it has a lot of resources for children and their parents.”
The playgroup is designed specifically for children up to the age of five and mothers under the age of 25, giving them and their children an opportunity to make new friends.
“Children get to learn how to interact with other children, and participate in activities which will help with their development,” Ms Biggelaar said.
“Sometimes mum’s can get lonely, so it also gives mum’s a chance to socialise. They can chat to other mums about what it’s like to be a parents and share ideas and advice.”
The program runs every Tuesday, from 12.45pm until 2.45pm. The session is free and snacks are provided.
