Parkers rule the rinks

HAMPTON Park’s RVBA Division 4 and VLBA Division 2 sides both recorded 50-shot wins in windy conditions at home on Saturday.
The Parkers’ RVBA Division 4 team thrashed Burden Park by 59 shots.
Pat Moevasa, Lance Davis, Ken Cobden and skip Bob Woodfield won by 34 shots, while Vince Kovacic, Zac Storm, Andrew Brandolin and skip Lionel Williams followed suit on the next rink with a 17-shot victory.
The game was slipping away from Jim Westwell, Fred McBrian, Larry Simpson and skip Geoff Ladner, but a late charge snatched a 24-22 success.
Les Unwin, Jeff Crozier, Geoff Ampt and skip Neville Hendrie recovered from a 12-shot deficit with 10 ends to go to steal a 29-23 triumph.
Scores: Hampton Park 18-135 d Burden Park 0-76.

The Parkers’ Ladies’ Saturday side got off to a shaky start before settling into a winning routine.
It took 13 ends for Tracey Storm, Gail Williams, Chris Hendrie and skip Helen Lambert to take the lead before earning a 36-15 win. Gail Wilcock, Ann Westwell, Shirley Burnside and skip Heather Naismith easily accounted for their opponents in a 40-9 victory. Scores: Hampton Park 2-76 d Bentleigh 0-24.

It was a disappointing trip to Mt Waverley for the Parkers’ RVBA division-six team, with only one rink winning. Keith McCarthy, Allan Unwin, Bob Nicol and skip Greg Pentland dropped a five and a six at crucial stages of the game to go down, 15-24.
Bob Meaney, Ray Leggett, Mark Paton and skip Bob Naismith scored only one shot on the last six ends to ruin any chance of success.
It was only a few shots difference all day for Gerry Cox, Jos Van Hout, Paul Barna and skip Rob Woff, but they had to settle for a 24-27 defeat.
Sean McDonald, Alan Wilcock, Allan March and skip Bill Webb maintained their early 10-shot lead to emerge victorious, 26-16.
