Golf course marks first birthday

MEMBERS of a championship golf course in Cranbourne South celebrated the course’s first birthday last week, marking the end of a successful year and the beginning of what members hope to be another.
Australian golfing legend Greg Norman designed The Settlers Run Golf and Country Club but said no matter how well designed the course was. the members are responsible for making the golf course a great success.
Settlers Run club manager Jane Bell also said she was proud of how successful the course and club had been.
“Since opening our doors last year, Settlers Run has established itself as one of the region’s best private courses, reaching nearly 300 members already,” she said.
“It is not only the 18-hole layout which is popular, with a range of facilities packed into our five-star clubhouse. Settlers Run has experienced some great successes since opening in October 2007 and we hope to continue this into our second year of operations.”
The $300 million facility offers members and their guests a range of facilities including a clubhouse, gymnasium, tennis courts, swimming pool, and restaurant.
Settlers Run members celebrated the birthday with golf, dinner, and were entertained by a band and comedian Chris Franklin.
