Family are left

JUNELLE Rhodes last week packed her things and moved out of Brookland Greens, fed up with the way the methane mess is being managed.
Mrs Rhodes, her husband Nathan and their two children Jaiden and Hannah, who left the Cranbourne estate last Wednesday, have moved to Langwarren.
The relocation came a day before the council advised residents that they could return or continue to live in Brookland Greens estate now that the methane gas status has been downgraded.
Unmoved by the latest council announcement, Mrs Rhodes said she was sick of the council and government bodies passing on the responsibility of the methane gas crisis, and was relieved to be out of Brookland Greens.
“I’m really exhausted and I’m tired of not being able to get questions answered,” she said. “Throughout this whole incident, all I’ve encountered is incompetence from the government and the council and there is no way that I trust them,” she said.
Mrs Rhodes said she started to look for a new house as soon as the CFA announced the emergency status, and said her decision to leave was also influenced by her son’s lung condition.
“We just didn’t want to take any risks with him, and they couldn’t guarantee there were no risks.”
Mrs Rhodes said her business was failing because she had spent so much time looking for houses.
“I had to go looking for a house every day so I couldn’t sit there running a business.
“We’re emotionally and financially exhausted.”
