CRANBOURNE police have stepped up patrols in Brookland Greens as they crack down on opportunistic looters.
Police are paying extra attention to the troubled estate after residents expressed concern that their vacant homes were vulnerable to break-ins.
After 29 families fled their homes in the midst of the methane mess, Sergeant Tony Nestor said an increase in vehicle patrols was part of the police’s response to the issue.
There have been no reports of Brookland Greens break-ins to date.
