AN OUTBREAK of skin rashes, eye infections, asthma and burning sensations among methane affected Brookland Greens residents has prompted a call for urgent free medical checks.
Casey mayor Janet Halsall said she will be calling on the Department of Human Services to provide the checks after she discovered the health problem while visiting residents.
She said she discovered illnesses this morning, (Friday).
Other residents complained of headaches and mood swings.
Cr Halsall said residents were concerned for their health.
“After the initial scare of fleeing the estate, residents have had a chance to take stock and are now concerned for their health,” she said.
Cr Halsall said Brookland Greens residents should be given free medical treatment – urgently.
“I’ll be pushing the DHS to extend their role from not just helping residents relocate, but by providing full medical checks for residents,” she said.
