Bowling club honours veterans

CRANBOURNE RSL Bowling Club hasn’t let the grass grow under its feet this winter.
Royal Victorian Bowls Association councillor Tony Bourke presented two of the club’s 80-year-old members, Clarrie Ware and John McGuinness, with Super Veterans Badges on Monday 23 June.
The club held a fun day on Sunday 29 June, with bowls and a barbecue lunch.
Two of the club’s members were also presented with life memberships.
The club’s open day will be on Sunday 31 August. Play will commence at 11am and whites must be worn. Lunch will be provided.
A list will be available on the noticeboard for members to add their names if they are interested.
The Ladies Pennant season begins on Tuesday 23 September with a home game against Narre Warren.
The Men’s Pennant will start on Saturday 4 October. No draws are available at this stage.
Practice matches have been arranged throughout September for both Ladies and Men’s Pennant teams. Details will be on the noticeboards.
