STUDENTS and staff at Kilberry Valley Primary School sported their jeans on Friday to raise money for children with genetic disorders.
Pupils at the Hampton Park school spent the day looking cool in their denim and brought a gold coin donation for Jeans for Genes Day.
Lisa Cain, the school’s special events coordinator, said the school raised a total of $741 to go to the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
The institute works towards preventing genetic disorders such as leukaemia, muscular dystrophy and cystic fibrosis.
One in 20 children is born with some form of genetic disorder.
Ms Cain said the children and staff had enjoyed the day, while raising money for a worthy cause.
