LOCAL groups will have to step up the pace to be in the running for community cash.
Applications for this year’s Hunt Club Community Fund grants close at 5pm on Friday, 20 October.
All not-for-profit groups operating in the 3977 postcode are eligible, provided they have been established for at least 12 months and their activities benefit the Casey community.
Groups can apply for financial grants of $500 or $1000 from a total pool of $16,000.
The Hunt Club Community Fund is an annual initiative by the Cranbourne estate’s developer, the Dennis Family Corporation.
Since the fund was instigated five years ago more than $60,000 has been donated to community groups.
The Hunt Club development manager Terry Dooling said groups could use grants for a wide range of purposes.
“Grants may be used for anything from purchasing items such as new uniforms, playground or sports equipment to structural improvements, books, training, food, blankets or events linked to services provided by the group,” he said.
An independent judging panel of community leaders will assess applications and decide how to allocate the money.
Successful recipients will be announced at a ceremony at The Hunt Club sales office in November.
Community groups can find out more by calling 5996 7088, visiting The Hunt Club’s land sales centre at 14 Broadoak Drive, Cranbourne East, or by logging on to www.huntclub.com.au
