HAMPTON Park children dreaming of becoming the next Roger Federer turned out at the local tennis club last week to test their skills.
Kids from four to 16 years old participated in a school holiday clinic over three days at the Hampton Park Tennis Club.
Tennis coach Tim Symons, who runs the program, said the 36 kids who attended had been eager to perfect their back swing while also having fun at the same time.
“All the kids had a ball. Everybody was very happy with it,” Mr Symons said.
The clinic, which ran three hours a day over the three days, also included a number of activities such as radar gun, video analysis, ball machine and tournaments.
“We needed to give them breaks from coaching especially for the four-year-olds,” Mr Symons said.
“Then we did different activities to keep their brains fresh.”
He said even the little kids had achieved a lot of success out of the program, which was held at the club at the Robert Booth Reserve on Somerville Road, Hampton Park.
The next holiday clinic will be held during the Christmas holidays.
The club also runs after-school coaching during the week.
