CRANBOURNE Secondary College students exchanged their desks and classrooms for a pool recently at the school’s annual house swimming carnival.
About 850 students participated in the range of swimming events while others cheered on their classmates.
The kids all got into the spirit, swarming in funky, colourful items to match their houses’ colours.
Facey (yellow) House won the competition this year, taking the trophy away from previous consistent winner Brunt House (blue).
Last Thursday 60 students represented the school in the Casey District swimming sports, with the school coming third in the district.
Cranbourne Secondary College sport coordinator Alan Davies said the school’s house swimming carnival had been a big success, with a lot of house spirit and kids dressed in their house colours.
This year the houses proudly displayed their original designed house flags as well.
Along with traditional events, students also had fun on the water slide and play area, with activities organised by the Student Representative Council (SRC) in the small pool.
Mr Davies said the district event had also been a success, with at least five students now going through to the Southern Zone swimming round.
He thanked fellow sport coordinator Sue Burt and swim coach Craig Mahony for all their hard work in what he said had been a busy week of swimming events.
