TWO local MPs visited the Cranbourne Scouts last week to present flags in a special ceremony.
Holt MP Anthony Byrne presented the group with an Australian flag, speaking of the origins of the flag.
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera also turned up with a Victorian Flag, giving the Scouts a description of its history.
The Scout group’s Cathey Visscher said the troop was pleased to have the two MPs at the ceremony after both accepted their invitations.
She said the group was trying to increase membership and it was good to have the local support.
The group also used the ceremony to assist some of the Scouts and Subs with various citizenship aspects of their badge work.
Group leader Michelle Lowrie thanked both MPs for their generosity and said the citizenship component of the Scout award scheme was regarded as one of the most important aspects promoted in the movement.
