Sweet dreams

NIGHTMARES were told to take a hike at Hampton Park Library last Thursday, when kids made dream catchers as part of a special holiday program.
Around 45 children aged from seven to 12 participated in the hourlong activity, where they were taught about Native American culture and then had the chance to make spiral dream catchers to hang near their windows at home.
“The kids had an excellent time,” said Hampton Park Library’s Kathie Olden.
“They really enjoyed the hands on element of making the dream catchers. It was a very popular event.”
Kathie also said the activity sessions at the library were a great way of promoting the fact that there is more to libraries than just books these days.
“We like the library to be a vibrant fun place for kids to come,” she said.
