SPORTS author Ken Piesse was the special guest at the Rotary Club of Cranbourne’s 15th annual business breakfast at the Settlement Hotel on Tuesday morning.
A large crowd turned out for the event and Mr Piesse kept the crowd well entertained with stories of old and his thoughts on the current cricket environment.
Mr Piesse, whose wife Susan hailed from Clyde, discussed the possible return of spin king Shane Warne to the Australian team and shared his views on the current IPL Twenty-20 competition.
An author of 30 books, Mr Piesse’s latest effort is a book marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sir Donald Bradman.
He revealed that Bradman once donned the whites for a game of cricket at Frankston during the war years.
Rotary Club of Cranbourne president Bill Goodall welcomed guests to the breakfast and spoke of the importance of the event.
“We’ve been holding a successful annual breakfast for 15 years.
“Its success is a credit to the Rotary Club and local business people,” he said. “I look forward to breakfast number 16.”
