CRANBOURNE’S seniors were recognised for their contribution to the community at the first major event held at the new Balla Balla Centre.
More than 250 people from the Cranbourne area attended a special morning tea last Wednesday with local and federal government representatives, including Holt MP Anthony Byrne and Casey deputy mayor Kevin Bradford.
The Cranbourne Country Women’s Association catered for the event.
Mr Byrne presented a special Cranbourne Community Spirit Award to David Lentin to recognise his outstanding service to the Cranbourne community.
Mr Byrne said the morning tea was an opportunity to recognise the contribution of seniors to the community, with people from Clyde, Lynbrook and Lyndhurst also attending.
He said it also gave locals an opportunity to tell him their concerns so he could offer assistance.
