CASEY Radio’s newest program for the over 55s has proved a hit and the team are calling on the community to get involved.
The program Living Life hit the airwaves in May after growing demand and lobbying by Casey’s senior citizens.
It began as a one-hour weekly program on Casey Radio 97.7FM and is already now running an extra hour each fortnight.
City of Casey community development manager Janette Green said the idea behind Living Life was to reach Casey’s older population in a different way, with seniors organising relevant content and presenting it themselves.
“The Living Life committee is made up of committed volunteers and they’re calling on more members to help shape the direction of the program, come up with story ideas and consider presenting,” Ms Green said.
“Anyone from the senior sector of our community is especially welcome to get involved.”
The program covers a broad range of topics including financial planning, retirement planning, travel, health and wellbeing, community activities and general news.
For information on how to get involved, call Casey’s positive ageing programs team leader Joan Pepi on 9705 5200 and tune in to Living Life on Mondays from noon.
