CASEY residents flocked to their shopping centres for the annual plant giveaway.
As the recent rain provides some relief for thirsty plants, locals picked up their free plant at Westfield Fountain Gate and Centro Cranbourne Shopping Centres last week.
The plant give away was part of Arbor Week celebrations with about 20,000 plants given away.
Plants included a mixture of trees, shrubs and ground covers suitable to the local area, including a blend of hardy Australian natives and local indigenous plants, which were chosen to suit varying soil types, block sizes and individual preferences and fit in with the neighbourhood character.
