LAWSON Poole Daylight Lodge celebrated a year of service to the Cranbourne community during a special Christmas luncheon on Tuesday.
Members enjoyed a traditional roast with all the trimmings when they gathered for the last time for the year at ‘Christmas in the South’.
Lodge master Ken White filled the hall with Christmas spirit when he presented the Cranbourne Information and Support Service with a cheque for $500 for emergency relief.
“This donation will enable the CISS to continue its goodwill.
“I am sure they will put the money to good use,” he said.
CISS manager Leanne Petrides said she was delighted to receive the much-needed funds at one of the hardest times of the year for many residents.
“This money will enable us to buy food, petrol and chemist vouchers for emergency relief.
“Every cent will be spent on this community. Not one bit will go to administration fees or wages.
“This is the one time of year many families struggle with Christmas and back-to-school expenses, so this $500 is very much needed,” she said.
