CWA celebrates its 78th

THE Country Women’s Association (CWA) Cranbourne branch celebrated its 78th birthday this month with a display at the Cranbourne Library.
The group was invited down to the library to put on a display and run an extended craft class for other members and the public.
CWA treasurer and craft leader Dianne Edwards said they were pleased to be given the opportunity to display their work and recognise the efforts of the CWA.
Leading the way with her card work last Wednesday was CWA member Gladys Welburn who turns 92 tomorrow (Friday).
Mrs Edwards said Gladys was admired by all the members.
“Her craft work leaves us all for dead,” she said.
“She does the most amazing work and without her glasses, even.”
The CWA Cranbourne branch runs a craft day at Vale Park Crescent Community House on the second Wednesday of each month and holds its meetings on the first Monday of the month at the Presbyterian Church on Sladen Street.
