EXCEPTIONAL students at Cranbourne West Primary School have been rewarded with a new Principal’s Award.
Principal Andrew Bergmeier said weekly classroom awards had been given to children this term that were consistently well behaved and showed good manners and courtesy.
Last week, the school ran its inaugural Principal’s Awards, with a student from each of the 33 classes chosen by their teacher.
“The classroom teachers choose a child that has consistently shown qualities of good manners and courtesy and who has been a fantastic contributor to the class,” he said.
“We will now be doing one each term.”
Mr Bergmeier said all had really enjoyed the event, with the children presented with a special badge.
Weekly award winners are presented with a certificate.
“It’s something a bit special,” he said.
“It really has a positive effect on the children because they see the kids getting the recognition and aspire to it themselves.”
