AN influx of homeless animals at the RSPCA’s Peninsula Animal Aid has the shelter in desperate need of owners.
More than 50 dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs are currently available for adoption from the Peninsula branch.
All animals have been tested for health and temperament and desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed.
Dogs and cats seven years and over are sold at a discount price and 25 per cent off all veterinary costs at RSPCA clinics for the rest of the animal’s life.
RSPCA Peninsula branch spokeswoman Jenny Atkins said school holidays was a great time to bring home a new pet.
“The family is able to get to know the animal and spend time with it, which is important while it is settling in,” she said.
The shelter, located in Robinsons Road Pearcedale, is open between 11am and 4pm seven days a week.
