A day of medieval mirth

CRANBOURNE South Primary School turned medieval last week with kids dressed as peasants, knights and princesses.
Students in grades three and four spent the last term studying all things medieval and this was a final celebration for the hard work.
Middle school teacher Glenn Hamilton said the day last Thursday was a chance for the kids to come dressed in medieval costume and then take part in a feast, with meat, potatoes and apple cider.
The kids visited each other’s classes to see what different medieval creations they had come up with and then enjoyed a presentation on castles.
Mr Hamilton said the middle school teachers then put on a play based on medieval times in a ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ style.
“The kids really enjoyed the day. They said it was fun, cool and it was awesome getting dressed up in costumes,” he said.
“They also thought the play was hilarious and they enjoyed having a good laugh at us.
“I think it was good for them to see us doing what they normally have to do for a change.”
