Fire lighters burn car

ONE fire lighter was not enough for an arsonist who set a car on fire in Cranbourne West last week.
They were found inside, around and on top of a Toyota Prado parked in the carport of a Middleham Close home.
Police said the car’s owner went to bed about 8pm last Wednesday, 26 July.
When he came back to the car at 3.40am the next day, he found two white fire lighters on the roof.
When he opened the door by remote control he found significant fire and smoke damage inside the car.
More lighters were found on the passenger seat, on the ground, on the car’s bonnet, on the front driver’s side wheel and one under the wheel.
Police said because of the lack of oxygen inside the car, the fire had burnt itself out.
The front passenger seat and door were fire damaged while most of the interior was smoke damaged.
