TWO pet dogs were brutally attacked during a burglary on a house in Cranbourne on the weekend.
A woman returned to her Sladen Street home on Saturday night to find her house had been ransacked and more than $20,000 worth of property stolen, including computer equipment, electrical goods, jewellery, children’s games, toys and food.
One of her dogs suffered a suspected broken jaw and a broken toe, and the other is in a serious condition at the local veterinary clinic.

A STATUE of a jockey was stolen from a home in Blue Hills Residences.
The 90cm statue, which police say holds great sentimental value to its owner, was taken between 3.30pm Friday 30 September and 3.30pm Sunday 1 October.
The statue belongs to a retired horse trainer and jockey who lives in the retirement village on BerwickCranbourne Road.

POWER tools valued at more than $7000 were stolen from a workshop in Cranbourne North last week.
It is believed the thieves forced their way into the Glasscocks Road property overnight on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 October.
A maroon VC commodore with the numbers 222 on the registration plate was seen driving up and down the road about the time of the theft.

TWO security guards were threatened during a fight at the Hampton Park shopping centre last week.
The guards had stopped to intervene in a fight between two men about 4.50pm on Monday 3 October when one of the men threatened to take the guard’s baton and use it on them.
The security guards reported the incident to police.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a vandalism attack on a car in Hampton Park last week.
A woman was in bed when two women rang the doorbell of her Redwood Avenue home on Monday 3 October.
She did not answer the door but later went out to check the mail and discovered scratches on the bonnet, boot lid and side of her car, which was parked in the driveway.
Police said the women, in their early 30s, of thin build and wearing numerous earings, drove away in a VN or VP Commodore.
