A concerted effort

COURTENAY Gardens Primary School’s Christmas concert was a monster event.
Hundreds of people gathered on the school oval recently as swarms of children performed Christmas carols.
Each year level performed two songs, and about 100 students got up on stage – a large tray truck.
Also performing on the night were the Courtenay Gardens Primary School’s dance group, the Little Devilz, winners of the Lyndhurst Cluster School Idol.
Santa made a special appearance, handing out lollies at the end of the night after performances from the school choir and a raffle.
Lauren van Rooyen, from Courtenay Gardens Primary School, said the Christmas concert was a tremendous success with hundreds of families attending in perfect weather.
She said students rehearsed for weeks on end to perfect their songs, with great results.
The children all got into the spirit of Christmas, wearing red and green, reindeer ears, Santa hats and beards, elf costumes and tinsel.
