STUDENTS at Lyndhurst Secondary College’s annual house swimming carnival were a swarm of colour and excitement last Thursday.
More than 700 students and staff attended swimming sports at the Noble Park Swim Centre.
Students were encouraged to dress up in their house colours and many rose to the occasion, with ribbons, banners and even leis (Hawaiian flower necklaces) in their respective colours.
Events in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly were held in each age group and the relays were hotly contested.
Novelty events such as tug of war and three on three basketball were also a hit.
The day culminated with the popular staff versus student relay, with the staff from Hale House taking out consecutive wins.
The final points tally left Hale on top.
Flintoff House was only six points behind in second place, followed by Kettner and then Sayers houses.
