Casey gearing up for GP run

By Rebecca Fraser
CASEY is getting into gear for the 2005 MRA Cranbourne GP Run.
Thousands of motorcycle riders and spectators are expected to take part in the celebrity waveoff on Saturday 15 October at 8am, before heading to the 2005 Polini Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island.
Cr Kevin Bradford, Chairman of the MRA Cranbourne GP Run Organising Committee, has encouraged community groups and residents to get behind the event.
“The annual MRA Cranbourne GP run spectacle provides a fantastic opportunity for local traders, businesses and community groups to get involved and be part of this popular community event.
“Families and motorcycle enthusiasts unite in this free event, enjoying the activities, displays and entertainment that line the side streets of Cranbourne and, of course, to cheer on the riders,” he said.
Cr Bradford said it was also the time for local traders to be creative and showcase their services to a wider audience.
“Stalls and shopfronts can be decorated in chequered flags, people could dress up,” he said. “The options to get involved are endless.”
