Skate ramp set for launch

GRAB your skateboard or bike this Friday and head to the official opening of the Hampton Park Skate Ramp.
To be officially opened at Cairns Road Recreation Reserve tomorrow from 4pm to 6pm, the community event will include a free barbecue and skating demonstrations.
The demonstrations will be a lively interaction for participants, with instant video replay feedback, while council’s Mobile Youth Info Centre, the Vibe bus, will also be on hand to answer questions.
Rivergum Ward councillor Wayne Smith will officially open the new skate ramp.
City of Casey city living manager Richard Amon said since the construction of the Hampton Park skate ramp, it had been extensively used and enjoyed by participants from around the area.
“Council has also undertaken a number of additional works to improve the skate facility and its amenity for participants and spectators, including families who visit the site,” Mr Amon said
“Council, in conjunction with Hampton Park Community Renewal officers, continues to work with the local community, Nexus Policing, Hampton Park Secondary College and the Cairns Road Recreation Reserve committee of management to ensure that the Cairns Road Reserve will provide positive recreational opportunities for young people and their families in Hampton Park.”
