AN early model Gemini was destroyed by fire in Cranbourne on the weekend.
The 1979 Holden was found gutted in Smiths Lane about 8pm last Saturday.
Police believe the car had been stolen from the Somerville Hotel the night before. A petrol tin was discovered inside the car.

A WOMAN left empty handed after attempting to rob a Cranbourne bakery.
The incident occurred at Rosa’s Bakery on High Street about 3.30pm on Saturday 10 September.
It is believed the woman entered the shop and waited for a customer to leave before threatening the 41yearold shop attendant and demanding money. The attendant said her boss was in the back of the shop and the woman fled on foot.
The woman is described as Caucasian, early 20s and wearing a large beige duffle coat and pink beanie.

Window forced
POLICE are investigating a burglary at a Hampton Park home last week.
It is believed the window of the front master bedroom was forced open at the Cairns Road home between 6pm and 7pm last Thursday.
A large quantity of jewellery, a plasma screen television, DVD player and other electrical goods were stolen. Police said a neighbour reported seeing a man drive away from the house in a white twin cab ute with a green canopy.
He is described as caucasian, about 30, clean shaven, short dark hair and wearing a white Tshirt and blue jeans.

A rear sliding door was forced open at the Cato Parkway home between 5pm and 9pm on Tuesday 13 September.
A surround sound system, DVD player and television were taken.
A neighbour reported seeing a man drive away from the house in a dark coloured car, possibly a Holden.

A PAIR of electrically modified oars was stolen from the back of a ute in Cranbourne.
The owner of the car left the oars in the tray while shopping at Thompson Parkway shopping centre between 8pm and 9pm on Thursday 8 September.
It is believed stainless steel electrodes had been installed in the oars.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to the theft of a large cat silhouette that was stolen from a Hampton Park veterinary clinic.
The theft occurred between 1pm on Sunday 11 September and 8am Monday 12 September. The silhouette, one of six attached to the Pound Road clinic fence, is about 120cm tall and valued at $50.
