Dylan’s dream run

THE Make-A-Wish Foundation has been announced as the major charity for next month’s Motorcycle Riders Association (MRA) Cranbourne GP Run.
The foundation will be making the wishes come true of more than just the motorbike riders and excited crowd on the day.
On the main stage prior to the wave-off, Emerald’s Dylan Calvert, who has cystic fybrosis, will be presented with a trip to Queensland along with parents Gayle and Tom.
The 14-year-old Emerald Secondary College student and motorbike racing enthusiast, who owns a Harley Davidson, will also join celebrity guest Mick Doohan in the cherry picker to wave off the sea of riders as they make their way to Phillip Island.
The City of Casey, in partnership with the organising committee for the run, announced last week that the Cardinia-Casey branch of the Make-A-Wish Foundation had been chosen for one of Casey’s biggest events of the year on Saturday, 13 October.
Committee chairman deputy mayor Kevin Bradford said council and the committee were delighted to have such a worthy charity involved in the event.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a charitable organisation that raises funds to fulfil the cherished dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses.
Cardinia-Casey’s Make-A-Wish Foundation president Helen Corbett said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to present Dylan with his wish to go to Queensland on this very special day and be part of the excitement.”
Motors will roar when Dylan and Mick wave off the sea of riders as they make their way down to Phillip Island.
The MRA Cranbourne GP Run starts at 8.15am with the wave-off at 10am in High Street.
