Thieves ransack container

By Sarah Schwager
POLICE believe burglaries at two Cranbourne businesses are connected.
Thieves stole items from Best ’n’ Less at the Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre and Cranbourne Bowland in Cranbourne East last Tuesday, 13 June.
Police said a shipping container parked at the shopping centre and used by Best ’n’ Less was broken into some time between 9.30pm on 12 June and 12.30pm on 13 June.
The offenders cut the padlock off the container, which was parked in a loading dock, and stole a large number of boxes of manchester, including towels and sheets.
At 1.35am on 13 June, the alarm was set off at Cranbourne Bowland on Berwick-Cranbourne Road.
The thieves used bricks to smash the glass doors then stole money from the till located in the bar area.
They also attempted to remove a safe.
Police said they found a shopping trolley inside the premises, which led them to believe the two burglaries were connected.
Anyone with information should contact Cranbourne CIU on 5995 4577.
