Sleeping man robbed in car

THIEVES smashed a car window as the owner slept inside on the side of the road in Cranbourne West on Saturday.
The man was asleep in the silver Ford at a bus stop on Monahans Road, opposite Sandhurst Shopping Centre, when be was awoken by someone knocking on the window about 2.30am.
One of a group of four men smashed the window.
He then stole the victim’s mobile phone before the victim quickly drove off in the car.
The offender and the other men left the scene on foot.
Police said the men were all in their late teens, one was Caucasian and the other three of Islander appearance.
The victim was not injured.
