CRANBOURNE basketball star Lucas Barker can’t wait to shoot hoops at this year’s Pacific School Games.
The Clyde Primary School student is one of three local sporting talents to be chosen for the Seventh Pacific School Games team for the Melbourne event being held from 27 November to 3 December.
Lucas will join Cranbourne North diver Hamish Browning and Clyde swimmer Ashley Arnott as part of the 400 strong Victorian team to compete against 3500 young athletes from across Australia and the Pacific.
Hastings MP Rosy Buchanan congratulated the three locals for being selected to compete in one of the largest sporting events in the world.
“It must be a terrific thrill for these young people.”
