A CRANBOURNE accounting firm is helping to kick start a career for one lucky local student.
Highview Accounting Services is currently taking applications for its $2500 university scholarship, open to all Year 12 accounting and finance students.
The scholarship program is giving away the scholarship to the best candidate who is currently an accounting or finance student in Year 12 in the Casey area and will enter the accounting and finance field at tertiary level.
Highview marketing co-ordinator Leah Conte said the program was created to help an outstanding, aspiring accountant and financial services professional to be recognised and rewarded.
“Highview is giving this away because we believe in helping the community and we want to give back to the local community,” she said.
“Basically, it is trying to help young people to get into the field of accounting and finance by giving them a head start.
“This money can be used to cover university or TAFE tuition, text books and study materials.”
Ms Conte encouraged students to apply as it could change their life.
“This scholarship helps to pay for those things that they need to become qualified and also helps them to create the path to being a professional in the area of finance and accounting,” she said.
“In the applications, we are looking for people that are passionate about the accounting and finance area and are committed to making a difference in the future.”
Applications will close on Monday 19 November, with finalists announced on 22 November and the winner announced on Friday 30 November.
