Jodie Bray has been appointed principal of Clyde North Station Primary School (interim name) on Eliston Avenue, which is set to open in 2022.
Ms Bray has been an educator for more than 19 years, most recently as principal at Hillsmeade Primary School in Narre Warren South for the past five years.
As principal of Clyde North Station Primary School (interim name), she aims to develop positive relationships across the community and to work with students as they grow.
She has been appointed principal following a thorough Department of Education and Training process to select one of Victoria’s best and brightest educators to lead the school.
Cranbourne MP Pauline Richards and Bass MP Jordan Crugnale both welcomed the appointment.
“Families in Clyde are a step closer to getting a great new local school in Term 1, 2022 now that we have a principal to lead the new primary school,” Ms Richards said.
Ms Crugnale said she looked forward to working with Ms Bray.
“Ms Bray brings a wealth of experience and has worked in the Casey area, so she has an understanding of how to nurture and bring new school communities together and create a positive learning environment, where students feel connected and have every opportunity and support to be their best,” she said.
Clyde North Station Primary School (interim name) will cater for 525 students from Prep to Year 6 once completed.
The school will include space for students to be active, natural outdoor areas that reflect the surrounding environment and modern learning facilities that support diverse curriculums.
The school will feature a library and learning neighbourhoods, as well as dedicated areas for art, food and science, performing arts and physical education.
To help students stay active, students will also have access to two outdoor hardcourts, playgrounds, a bike shed and a sports field.
Locals can now have a say on their preference for the new school’s name via the Engage Victoria website.
Following consultation, the final decision on school naming will be made by the Victorian Government.
