Stink not a problem

A strange smell caused a few wrinkled noses in Devon Meadows over the weekend, but was found to be safe after a CFA investigation.

The CFA was notified at 6.21pm on Friday 30 April to reports of a strange odour in the area of Craigs Road, Devon Meadows.

Four CFA vehicles attended the incident with support from FRV.

After investigating, they found that the source of the smell was farm chemicals that had been applied to a paddock.

The incident was declared under control at 6.47pm.

An advice message was issued to inform the community the area was safe, and that an odour was lingering due to little wind in the area.
