CASEY Radio has launched a new program “by women for women”.
The Women of Today, which runs each Friday from 11am to 1pm on 97.7FM is hosted by Casey Councillor Amanda Stapledon and former stage and TV casting agent, including manager for Tina Arena, Marea Bye.
Cr Stapledon said the program invited women throughout the community as guests to talk about the great things they were doing in the community and the issues that matter to them.
“The topics are broad and very interesting,” she said.
“We cover everything from sport to therapies, children, missionary work, women in business and disability issues.
“We talk to women from all walks of life in the local area.”
Since the program started a few weeks ago, a number of guests have already made an appearance including Anne Atkins, who spoke about her new book Living and Laughing with Parkinson’s, Leanne Petridis, from Cranbourne Information and Support Services who spoke about the Swags for the Homeless, Reverend Wendy Snook, from the Cranbourne Uniting Church, and Melanie Lindsay, from the Cranbourne Football Club.
Cr Stapledon said the program has been going great.
“Each guest has been sensational and an inspiring,” she said. “We have had so much fun to date and are staggered at the amazing women out there who are working so tirelessly and selflessly in the most interesting aspects of our community.
“Women of Today is a program by women for women. We hope that it is also a program for men and invite them to tune in and listen to what women are doing in our community and what it is that they want in life.
“It is our commitment to make Women of Today the most listened to program on Casey Radio.”
