Man airlifted to hospital

A man has been airlifted to hospital following a head on collision in Warneet on Wednesday, 15 April.

Police have been told it appeared one car drifted to the wrong side of Warneet Road, near Rutherford Parade, when the collision occurred just before 9.50pm.

Ambulance Victoria said a man in his 70s was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition with upper body injuries.

A man in his 20s from the other vehicle was taken by road ambulance to the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition with lower body injuries.

Volunteers of the Warneet-Blind Bight CFA fire brigade were also at the scene in helping clear the section of the road.
