Police probe sexual attack

By Bridget Cook
POLICE are seeking information about the identity of a man who sexually assaulted a woman in Cranbourne this month.
A 46-year-old woman was walking along High Street, Cranbourne, and around Greg Clydesdale Square about 6pm on 1 May, heading to Centro Shopping Centre.
Police said at this location, a man approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately.
The victim moved away and threw an empty glass bottle that hit him in the face and smashed, police said.
The woman then ran away.
The man is described as about 30 years old, with olive skin, about 6’4” (193 cm), muscular build with crew cut, dark hair and a goatee beard.
The man had tattoos on both his upper arms, with his right arm depicting a Maori type band.
Police said the man was wearing a muscle-type, short sleeve, faded peach colour top, faded baggy blue jeans and white runners.
Police are seeking any information regarding the identity of the man.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Leading Senior Constable Kylie Ballantyne at Dandenong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Unit on 9767 7469 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
